During the pandemic, Philip Slen — a dedicated DIY enthusiast with a deep appreciation for Peking Duck — set out to perfect this iconic dish at home. He quickly encountered the same limitations many home cooks face: conventional ovens and traditional roasting pans simply aren’t engineered for safe, efficient vertical roasting. Existing tools provide inconsistent heat distribution, uneven browning, and unpredictable results, especially for dishes that demand all-around crispness and precision. For Peking Duck, where uniform caramelization and tender, juicy meat are essential, these limitations made the process unnecessarily challenging.

Seeing an opportunity to reimagine the roasting experience from the ground up, Philip began developing a more capable, multi-functional vertical roasting system — one designed to deliver professional-level results in an everyday home oven. Over nearly two years of hands-on development and testing in real home kitchens and through his DIY Peking Duck cooking classes, the concept evolved into a patent-pending, production-ready vertical roast pan system engineered for consistency, performance, and ease.
